I wanted to make some holiday gift boxes and tags inspired by the bright, whimsical holiday theme trending this year.
The whimsical colors, items, and fun aesthetic make me so happy- excited to share just how I made these gifts and give you some ideas, tips, and tricks.

Let's talk about the adorable gift tags!
When all the Christmas shopping has been checked off the list, the time to wrap all the gifts for your recipients has begun. To help personalize those gifts, I made this Holiday Gift Tag Bundle.
Table of Contents
What’s included in the Holiday Gift Tag Bundle?

I designed these adorable gift tags to help with the process of decorating those gifts. I made them using Proofgrade® Acrylic with my Glowforge Aura machine and love how they turned out!
This Holiday Gift Tag bundle includes 12 unique gift tags that are not only compatible with Glowforge machines- the files are also compatible with Cricut machines!

Here is a list of the 12 featured SVG designs:
- 1 Christmas Tree
- 6 Traditional Christmas Ornaments
- 2 Basic Gift Tags
- 1 Stocking
- 1 Gingerbread Man
- 1 Light Bulb
Keep in mind that some of the ornaments do have two layers. The traditional Christmas ornaments come with caps that are unique to each ornament and align at the top, and the gingerbread man has two circle cutouts for the eyes and a smile. All you need is some glue to attach these elements to the bases.

What Materials are Compatible?
You can use Proofgrade materials Glowforge provides (Acrylic, wood, leather, and iron-on).
The Proofgrade materials are 100% compatible with the Glowforge machines. They are laser-friendly, are digitally encoded- the machine will recognize the QR code and adjust print settings in the web app- and each piece of material is covered with masking to protect it from burn marks during the cutting process. To learn more about Proofgrade materials, click here and here.
For this project, I used Glowforge 12 x 12 Green Eco Thin Acrylic Sheets that I spray painted after cutting.
You can even cut these out of paper with other cutting tools, such as a Cricut machine.
Are the SVG Files Compatible with Other Cutting Software?
Yes! These holiday gift tags are compatible with Cricut, Glowforge, Silhouette, etc.
Importing Gift Tag SVG Files into Glowforge App
Upload the files to the Glowforge Web App by clicking Create New Design in the top left corner of the app. Learn more about the software here.
Next, click on the "+" above the canvas and import your artwork.

Move the design(s) to a place that fits onto your material on your screen.
Click Print in the top right corner of the workspace, and wait for the Glowforge button to blink on your machine. Press the glowing button, and let the machine do the cutting for you! Before opening the lid, wait a couple of minutes to let the fumes go down.
Assembling Gift Tags
- Upload the files to your preferred cutting program (Glowforge, Cricut, Silhouette, etc).
- Follow the prompts, and get cutting.
- The fun part is painting them colors that go with a theme! I spray painted mine bright, fun colors with Color Shot spray paints.
- Once painted or left be, grab a 6-inch ribbon, pull it through the circle cutout at the top of the gift tags, loop, and tie the two ends together.
- And there you have it! This project is simple but adds great personalization to your gifts.

You can even use these gift tags as ornaments for your tree!
I hope you have a lot of fun with these adorable svg gift tags!
Decorating Gifts
When it came to decorating the gifts I grabbed anything that had a sparkle in my Christmas stash. To accomplish the whimsical look, I layered torn ribbon, and added disco balls, ornaments, and mini trees. For the wrapping, you can use colorful wrapping paper or spray paint boxes to put your gifts in. You're going for the maximalist style. 😉
